6600 Sunset (Scheme 2)
Hollywood, CA

The current design for 6600 Sunset Blvd. is 15,000 SF 3-story urban infill office building with street level retail that will surround and connect to the existing 1929 historic commercial building. The second floor of the new building will align with the second floor of the existing building to create one large expansive floor plate. The project includes a third level penthouse suite that opens onto a large pool and garden terrace with the Hollywood hills as a back drop.

The Sunset Blvd. facade of the new buillding compositionally mirrors the historic building yet modern in its desing and execution. The second floor new office space is double height for a variety of stackable work spaces. Building materials include glass, metal, concrete block, and smooth plaster.

The Sunset Boulevard facade of the new building takes compositional and proportional cues from the historic building without resorting to architectural kitsch or mimicry. An independent identity is established for the new building that is respectful of and related to its historic neighbor.
